The PositionThe Search Associate manages designated search assignments and is responsible for working closely with the client institution throughout the process, preparing reports, identifying the leadership needs of the position, recruiting a pool of candidates, managing candidates throughout the search, vetting candidates – and providing an outstanding level of service and expertise to the client at every phase of the search process. The Search Associate is expected to attend professional association meetings, participate in and manage business development activities, and maintain active networks with a wide variety of higher education professionals. The person in this position will represent the firm at all institutional levels and must be able to work fluidly with multiple constituencies. This position has the option of telecommuting from a home office or working from the headquarters office in Easthampton, Massachusetts. The travel associated with this position is extensive. QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, master's degree is preferred, and ten years of demonstrated progressive experience in planning, organizational development, and partnering within a higher education environment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and will have the ability to work independently, to focus intently on details, and to serve both clients and candidates with insight, professionalism, and confidentiality. Additional skills include exceptional writing abilities, strong public speaking, and critical and creative thinking. Substantive work in higher education professional associations at the national or regional level is required. Strong technology skills are highly desirable.
