Spelman Johnson Offers Scholarships to Attend Women’s Leadership Institute 2016

Spelman Johnson is delighted to be offering five scholarships to cover registration fees for the Institute. Scholarships are open to all those that wish to apply, however, there will be a preference given to women professionals from Community Colleges, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Native American-Serving, Non tribal Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, or Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions. Ideally applicants should possess at least ten years of experience in higher education administration in a mid- or senior-level position. There will be five awardees selected from applications received on or before October 19, 2016. The Women’s Leadership Institute is co-produced by members of the Council for Higher Education Management Associations (CHEMA) – ACPA, ACRL, ACUI, APPA, ASCA, CSHEMA, NACA, NACAS, NACUBO, NAEP, NASPA, NIRSA, NODA, SCUP, and URMIA. Ellen Heffernan

Ellen Heffernan graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in economics and government. She joined Spelman Johnson in 1996, after a ten-year career in higher education that included positions at Smith College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is also a national speaker and writer on topics related to recruiting and professional development in higher education and serves as faculty for several national higher education association professional development programs. Ellen also currently serves on the executive board of the National Association of Executive Recruiters.
